Generating Positive Energy for a Sustainable Future

Oriented along the north-south axis and positioned between Maison du Cambodge and Maison du Liban, a triangular extension was added to the south of the building. The design set out to capture ample sunlight while serving as a sound barrier against the expressway. Remarkably generating more energy than it consumes, the complex became the first positive-energy collective residence to be built in France.

Deerns Solutions

Commissioned by the Île de France Region, the Maison de l’Île-de-France is a sustainable vision realised by Deerns, featuring a student residence comprising 142 rooms across eight floors, accompanied by an array of facilities. Deerns played a key role in the project, actively participating in technical studies. The project involved installing a 200m³ water tank for heating and domestic purposes. Deerns-installed photovoltaic panels achieve Zero Energy, Zero Carbon and Zero Nuclear Waste, setting new benchmarks for sustainable construction.
