Deerns Solutions
Deerns played its part in the sustainability and well-being strategies, emphasising decarbonisation and efficient space design to achieve a 43%-52% reduction in energy consumption. The focus on water efficiency provided dividends too. The installation of 406 photovoltaic panels helped significantly decrease energy consumption. Implementation of efficient lighting design and daylight controls, reducing both energy consumption and the internal cooling load, was a further key factor. In terms of operational policies, measures for cleaning, waste management, pest control and health have been implemented to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. The building design prioritises visual comfort and undergoes airtightness, energy efficiency, air and water quality, comfort and acoustics tests.
