MEP

MEP encompasses mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. These systems form the technical backbone and lifeblood of a building. MEP ensures that buildings function optimally and are comfortable for users.

How can we minimize the CO₂ emissions of our building? How do we ensure that the building meets all requirements (e.g., for sustainability, indoor climate, lighting, and safety)? And how do we guarantee that contractors execute the design correctly and within the available budget?

The answer to these questions lies in a well-thought-out MEP design. At Deerns, our MEP expertise is deeply rooted in our market segments. This allows us to provide each project with the exact technical solutions it needs, tailored to the client’s or user’s requirements, whether it’s an airport, data center, or other complex environment.

Within MEP design, the following are included:

  • Mechanical (HVAC): Heating, ventilation, air conditioning, sustainability, elevator installations, and other mechanical systems that ensure a comfortable and functional building.
  • Electrical: All electrical systems, such as power supply, lighting, emergency lighting, data and communication systems, and security.
  • Plumbing: All plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, rainwater management, water retention, and other systems related to water and waste management in a building.

Integrated Approach

Our MEP expertise forms the foundation for every (integrated) project in the diverse markets we serve. In more complex challenges, additional specialized knowledge may be deployed, for example, Building Physics, ICT infrastructure, Lighting Design, Safety & Security, Smart Building & Building Automation, and Sustainability & Energy Transition. This integrated approach delivers comprehensive solutions that are both technically sound and future-proof.

Rouven Nieuwenburg, Technical Director at Deerns, explains: “Our work in MEP goes beyond just meeting technical specifications. We ensure that a building functions as intended, is comfortable, and provides a healthy, sustainable environment.”

The Foundation for a Sustainable Future

Future-oriented buildings are sustainable buildings, and MEP design plays a crucial role in this. By integrating smart systems, energy efficiency, and innovative water management, we ensure that buildings are not only functional but also have a positive impact on their surroundings.
