A Timeless Legacy of Evolving Sustainability
First designed by architects Josep Maria Fargas and Enric Tous, in partnership with Jordi Aguilà, the building is not just an architectural icon but a pioneer in implementing environmental policies and efficient systems. Thanks to GCA Architects’ intervention, the project earned LEED Gold, WELL Silver and WELL Health-Safety Rated certification, validating its energy consumption optimisation, indoor air quality, efficient water use, and waste management.
Deerns Solutions
Deerns played a key role in implementing project-wide sustainable solutions. As sustainability and well-being consultant and project leader, Deerns brought its engineering expertise to bear, rolling out sustainable measures and designing efficient systems that significantly reduce environmental impact, optimising energy efficiency and ensuring that building occupants enjoy a healthy indoor space. The building is equipped with photovoltaic panels and real-time energy monitoring meters. Regular air quality monitoring maintains WELL certifications, prioritising a pollutant-free environment. Enhanced filtration, ecological cleaning and sustainable pest management are key improvements. Design, signage, high-quality resources and safety measures promote human well-being.
