Next-Gen Airport: Sustainable Design Meets Solar Innovation

Designed to accommodate up to 5 million passengers, the new airport will be a model of sustainability, thanks to facilities designed to reduce CO2 and the installation of photovoltaic panels onto a modular roof structure topped with alternating and variable pitches in polychrome ceramic-clad, micro-perforated and opaque panels.

Deerns Solutions

Overall project coordination of the new terminal and carefully integrating it into a complex environment is where Deerns is making an important contribution to the project’s success. Establishing a scalable and expandable facility capable of handling high passenger numbers is high priority. The project’s modular nature ensures expansion without impacting airport operations. Implementing a sustainable approach and integrating extensive photovoltaic coverage were hallmark features of the job.
