Person-centred Innovation for Faster Healing
Smart design meant that the hospital became a leader in addressing individual needs by diversifying patient needs and allocating the requirements to the correct departments and/or nearest assistance. Radboudumc is becoming the most person-centred and innovative University Medical Centre in the Netherlands. The hospital is adopting a new nursing approach, with patient rooms designed to foster a more rapid healing environment.
Deerns Solutions
Considering the various user types and the building’s future, Deerns managed building services installations and lighting, and smart building design. Every member of the design team worked together to develop the design of the most efficient hospital in Western Europe. Deerns took on the challenge to earn BREEAM-NL Excellent design and in-use certificates for the building. With input from all its design teams, Deerns achieved a well-integrated design, developed within a fully integrated BIM model.
