Deerns earns top rankings in ENR Global Design Review

The Hague, 13 January 2025 – International engineering and consultancy firm Deerns has clinched strong rankings in key sectors in the Engineering News Record (ENR) 2024 Global Design Review.

Deerns was ranked 13th for data centres, 15th for telecommunications and 37th for manufacturing in the high-profile publication. The results confirm the company’s continued positive momentum in these critical sectors. The excellent growth figures for these sectors also underpin the company’s recent decision to separate its Data Centres and Life Sciences & Electronics divisions to better meet rising customer demand.

Speaking of the ENR results, Tjerk van der Meer, CEO Deerns Group said: “We are making good progress against the ambitious growth targets set for our data centres, life sciences and electronics business. We’re delighted with our latest ENR rankings and expect the recent shift to our divisional structure will enable us to further advance our positions in these sectors.”

Since 2022, Deerns has been featured in the ENR’s annual Top 225 International Design Firm. The report ranks international design firms according to revenue for design services carried out by each firm in countries other than their home country. The 2024 global design review ranking reflects Deerns’ role in global projects including major new build schemes in the data centre, electronic, and life sciences industries. As well as work to adapt existing designs and facilities to meet client expectations and ambitions for sustainability and innovation.

Changes to the company’s divisional structure will take effect from January 2025 with Ricardo Fornari and Cosimo Verteramo appointed to head up the company’s Data Centre and Life Sciences & Electronics Divisions respectively.

Tjerk van der Meer continues: “Both Ricardo and Cosimo already have impressive track records within our organisation. Ricardo has been Managing Director of Deerns in Brazil whilst Cosimo has led the previous division which combined data centres with life science and electronics. I have no doubt that under their leadership our new divisions will continue along their impressive growth trajectories.”
