Speaking of the result, Ricardo Fornari, Country Director Deerns Brazil said: “We are very proud to be ranked so close to the top 50 largest engineering and construction firms in the country. This reflects the continued success of our data centre operations, marked by the award of several new projects with high profile clients.”
Influential engineering publication O Empreiteiro publishes the annual OE 500, ranking engineering and construction firms according to gross revenue, and gathering useful insights and data trends from the industry.
Thanks to Deerns Brazil’s strong project work and promising pipeline, the team has continued to see significant revenue growth over the last year. The company is making excellent progress in other sectors such as Life Sciences and Hospitals as well as exploring further regional expansion. This has been supported by an increase in staff numbers of almost 40% so far this year.
Ricardo Fornari continues: “Backed by the 95-year history of Deerns, our team in Brazil is making remarkable progress, having seen our revenue grow by 263% since 2021 when we were first included in the OE 500 rankings. Demand for data centres continues to grow and we are meeting those needs; delivering secure, stable, reliable and sustainable solutions. I’m very proud of the team, their professionalism, integrity and entrepreneurial mindset are the foundations of our business. With these values at our core, I’m confident that we will continue to thrive.”
Engineering sector continues to thrive
The annual publication of the OE 500 rankings is an opportunity to gauge the growth of the engineering sectors across four key sectors – Construction, Design & Consultancy, Industrial Assembly and Special Engineering Services.
Using gross revenue from engineering services, the rankings represent a mixture of traditional firms, new entrants and those making an impact in specialist or niche services. For the 2023 financial year, the total gross revenue for the industry grew by 18.06% year-on-year. Contributing to an increase of 84.26% over the last five years.
The continued growth throughout the industry is noted by the publication, to be contributing projects that not only improve the quality of life of the population but that also underline the importance of private capital in modernising infrastructure.
