Deerns supports IDEADED expansion

The Hague, 7 October 2026 — Deerns has been appointed to support the expansion of IDEADED’s pilot line, reinforcing its position as a trusted engineering partner in Spain’s growing semiconductor industry.

As part of its growth strategy, IDEADED is expanding its 500m² cleanroom facility in Viladecans, home to one of Southern Europe’s largest private semiconductor cleanrooms. The project forms part of IDEADED’s roadmap to establish a leading pilot plant dedicated to next-generation semiconductor technologies, including those based on 1D and 2D materials.

Eric Stuiver, Sector Director Electronics, said, “This expansion is a strategic project that will support the development and scaling of IDEADED’s new microelectronics technologies from research and development towards early production.  By combining Deerns’ international expertise in cleanroom and high-tech facility design with local capabilities in Spain, we can provide IDEADED with a clear, structured pathway for growth.”

IDEADED

Engineering a future-ready pilot line

IDEADED develops next-generation microchips using semiconductor technologies based on 1D and 2D materials. Its technologies have applications across logistics, pharmaceuticals, distribution and computing, supporting the development of a new generation of more efficient and sustainable semiconductor solutions.

Deerns will assess the existing infrastructure, define the expansion strategy and develop the engineering approach needed to ensure the upgraded pilot line meets the performance, reliability and regulatory requirements of advanced semiconductor manufacturing.

Beyond the technical scope, the appointment demonstrates the value of long-term collaboration. IDEADED selected Deerns for its engineering expertise, integrated approach and ability to connect clients with knowledge and experience from across the semiconductor landscape.

IDEADED

Strengthening Spain’s semiconductor ecosystem

The award reflects Deerns’ growing presence in Spain’s high-tech and semiconductor sector. As investment in semiconductor manufacturing accelerates through initiatives such as PERTE Chip, Deerns is helping clients create the highly controlled environments required for next-generation manufacturing.

The IDEADED pilot line expansion, scheduled for completion in November 2026, marks another important milestone in this commitment. By supporting the development of advanced, beyond-silicon manufacturing facilities, Deerns is helping deliver the resilient, high-performance infrastructure that will underpin tomorrow’s semiconductor technologies.
