Deerns opens new office in Thane, Mumbai, India, further positioning the organisation in the local market following the signing of an MOU in 2023.
The new office opening follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last year formalising the strategic partnership between Deerns and Spectrum PharmaTECH, a leading pharmaceuticals and biotech engineering consultancy in India. We now took the next step by establishing a local joint venture (JV), with Deerns becoming a major shareholder in Proworks, a sister company of Spectrum; soon to be rebranded to Deerns Spectrum (pvt) ltd. The JV supports our ambitious plans to grow our presence in the health care, data centre and electronics sectors in India.
Around 150 people attended the celebration event held at the new office. Tjerk van der Meer, CEO Deerns, welcomed guests including Mr Bart de Jong, Consul General of the Netherlands in Mumbai, Mr. Kunal Vora, Senior Policy Advisor, Dutch Embassy/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands; and senior leadership including Hareld van den Brink, Commercial Director and acting Unit Director Deerns India, Ravindra Burse, operations director Deerns India; Sven Arkesteijn, BIM Coordinator, Deerns and from Spectrum, R.S. Swaminathan, Managing Director, Aniruddha Parmar, Director and Ajit Kadam, Director.

The collaboration will significantly expand Proworks, building on existing capacity in design, engineering and project management consultancy. Drawing on Deerns’ global network of expertise, the venture will lead Deerns’ ambitious plans to grow its presence in the health care, data centre and electronics sectors in India.
