Dutch multinational confirms commitment to the methodology that aims to make processes more efficient and integrated in the construction market.
São Paulo, 15 November 2024 – Deerns, a Dutch multinational engineering and consulting company specialising in sustainable and innovative projects, has joined the BIM Forum Brazil, an organisation that promotes the adoption of BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology. Joining the organisation reinforces the company’s commitment to excellence and the use of more efficient and integrated processes in its operations.
Milena Mergulhão, BIM manager at Deerns said: “This is an important step for the company. Although BIM is already applied in many of our projects and we invest extensively in digitalising our processes and training our team, joining the forum formalises our commitment.
“The biggest advantages of adopting this methodology are the collaborative work between different project participants and the centralised management of information. This allows for an accurate overview of the project at all stages resulting in improved efficiency.”
The BIM methodology allows for 3D digital modelling of all the elements of a project using detailed information for factors such as materials, costs and schedules. This offers better coordination between disciplines such as architecture, engineering, installations and construction, as well as facilitating information management throughout the project’s life cycle. The BIM Forum Brazil was created to encourage the adoption of this process throughout the country, facilitating collaboration so that the construction industry can enjoy the benefits of more digital, integrated and collaborative processes.
Deerns’ association with the organisation also reinforces its commitment to innovation and sustainability. The company believes that advanced methodologies such as BIM are fundamental to delivering high quality projects that meet current and future needs of clients and help deliver against sustainability targets and ambitions. “By taking part in the BIM Forum Brazil, we are joining other market players in promoting the exchange of knowledge, the standardisation of processes and the development of new technologies that add value to the construction sector in Brazil.” adds Mergulhão.
