The Hague, 12 January 2026. International engineering consultant Deerns, has appointed Christopher Leahy to Sector Director – Data Centres, as the company builds on excellent growth across the industry.
Christopher Leahy began at Deerns as Project Director, providing strategic guidance and project oversight to the Data Centre team in Italy. More recently, he served as Key Account Manager, with the Deerns global Data Centre team.
As Sector Director – Data Centres, Christopher will focus on driving client success and business growth and ensuring we keep pace with the sector by delivering the sustainable and innovative solutions that it needs. In doing so he will build stronger global relationships with clients and partners and work closely with our data centre experts and delivery team in meeting the unique challenges of state-of-the-art data centre projects.
Speaking of the appointment, Ricardo Fornari, Division Director Data Centres said: “Christopher’s appointment comes at an exciting time for our Data Centre business as we mark our continued growth in this fast paced and highly dynamic sector.”
Deerns was recently named 13th of the top International Design Firms for Data Centres in the annual Engineering News Record (ENR) 2024 Global Design Review.
“Christopher is well known for his data centre expertise, project oversight and ability to build trust with clients, project teams and stakeholders. His ability to motivate people to jointly face challenges will go a long way in delivering projects for our clients in the rapidly evolving data centre industry.”

Christopher has successfully led numerous large-scale data centre projects, with a strong emphasis on project management and delivering quality outcomes for clients.
Christopher continues: “Having worked in building systems design for more than 25 years and now specialising in data centres, I have worked on major projects across Europe, leveraging my experience to guide teams in successfully delivering for our clients.”
Christopher takes on the role with immediate effect. He will be based in Italy, working with multinational clients, jointly with Deerns’ global data centre design teams.
