How can airports successfully navigate the urgent need to decarbonise the aviation sector? Join us at Booth A205 at #PTExpoConf 2024 and learn more at our presentation with Schiphol Airport.
Gertjan Harkink, Project Manager Airports at Deerns, will co-present “Journey to Net Zero Carbon – Projects Implementation in Schiphol Airport” with Annieke Smith, Sustainability Expert at Royal Schiphol Group. Their talk will take place under the track ‘Environment and Sustainability’, on 16 April 2024.
Airports play a vital role in addressing the global challenge of decarbonisation. By adopting a holistic approach to sustainability and circularity at campus level, airports can significantly contribute to meeting decarbonisation goals while also reaping economic benefits. Schiphol Airport, in collaboration with Deerns, will share insights around sustainability and circular practices. Case studies of ongoing projects will also offer attendees valuable insights into effective strategies and tangible engineering solutions for achieving these objectives.
Gertjan explains, “The presentation will demonstrate how a holistic design approach is key to achieving optimal results during airport operations. It will also delve into how projects that embrace circularity and sustainability are most successful when these measures are implemented at campus level. We will then look at how to build a profitable business case for circular and sustainable solutions, focussing on both CAPEX and OPEX; and offer the audience five key takeaways on the journey to Net Zero Carbon.”
