Deerns Certified as a Great Place to Work!

The Hague, 18 June 2025. International engineering consultancy, Deerns, is celebrating achieving the official Great Place to Work Certification.

A recent survey across six of the countries Deerns operates in thoroughly assessed employee perspectives on the company’s workplace culture. By scoring 70% or more on the resulting Trust Index Deerns was awarded Great Place to Work Certification.

Tjerk van der Meer, CEO at Deerns said: “We want to ensure that our employee experience helps people to thrive in the workplace and in their careers. Achieving Great Place to Work Certification demonstrates our commitment to a positive and engaging workplace culture.”

The survey provided invaluable feedback from across the Deerns team, helping the firm identify areas in which they are performing well and those in which there are opportunities to grow.

The survey results highlighted several key strengths within the organisation. Employees expressed positive sentiments regarding three areas in particular:

  • Justice – a measure of the extent to which employees perceive the management team promotes inclusive behaviour and avoids discrimination.
  • Camaraderie – measured respondents enjoyment of the workplace through their willingness to express themselves and extent to which they feel like members of a community.
  • Intimacy – the sense that employees can be themselves and count on and support their colleagues.

There was also constructive feedback in other areas such as equity, impartiality and collaboration.

Lenny Hageman, Global Manager People & Culture, Deerns: “We are fully committed to listening and taking concrete steps based on what our team has shared with us through the Great Place to Work survey. Actively listening to your team isn’t just good management practice; it’s the bedrock for building a workplace where everyone feels valued, which in turn drives innovation and the organisation’s collective success.”

This certification marks a significant milestone as Deerns seeks to further enhance the employee experience and solidify its commitment to creating a positive and thriving work environment.

Tjerk continues: “We are incredibly proud of this collective achievement and look forward to continuing to build an even greater place to work, together.”
