What impact can decarbonising commercial and public real estate have on European net-zero ambitions?
We’re heading to Brussels to take part in the European Union Sustainable Energy Week, organised by the European Commission (via DG Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency – CINEA) With sessions focusing on sustainable energy issues, highlighting policy developments, best practice and innovation, this is the largest conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe.
You’re invited: European Sustainable Energy Week
Strategic sustainability Advisor and CSR Director of Deerns, Ana Cunha, will be joining a panel with main EU investors to review how the European real estate industry is leading the way towards achieving net-zero emissions and showcase the Building sector’s critical role in the EU’s clean energy transition
12 June, 1130-1300 – Getting to net-zero: supporting the clean energy transition by decarbonising European buildings.
Along with other leading real estate and sustainability experts, Ana will share insights about barriers and opportunities in scaling sustainability real estate practices across Europe, and will share real world examples from the work we are doing to help develop innovative energy systems, including those that are fully electric or off-grid.
Ana’s perspective will focus on how leaders in real estate are implementing solutions and developing standards to reduce carbon footprints, improve energy efficiency, align with the EU’s net-zero targets and attract private capital for such transition. Based on concrete examples, the session aims to address regulatory hurdles and explore the integration of energy-efficient technologies and financing mechanisms to drive decarbonisation and sustainable real estate investment.
