“Pioneering Lighting Design”

Linda Salamoun, a leading lighting design specialist, unleashes her creativity working on projects where she puts people’s well-being first.

Pioneering with lighting design

According to Linda Salamoun a good lighting plan is indispensable to any project since it puts people at centre stage in buildings. She believes that lighting goes beyond functional needs and should contribute to people’s well-being. “A well-thought-out lighting plan can reduce contribute to improved comfort and well-being. It can actually reduce illness and fatigue,” says Linda.

Architectural approach

The creativity involved also makes the work interesting. Linda: “Lighting should be visually appealing. I enjoy this architectural angle in lighting design. In projects I devise and design creative solutions in collaboration with architects, both technically and conceptually.”

" I am proud of each project in a different way. With each project, you delve into different facets in terms of light. That's where the challenge lies. It never gets boring.

With a background in electrical engineering, Linda decided to specialise in lighting design in the UK. she is part of a handful of lighting design specialists in the Netherlands. “Lighting design has only recently been recognised as a profession in the Netherlands,” Linda explains.
