Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo International Airport

Sarajevo Airport has renovated its Terminal B in 2001. Since the reopening, traffic at Sarajevo International Airport has steadily increased.

With the number of passengers reaching the maximum capacity of the terminal building an extension was planned: a doubling of the terminal area. Deerns was responsible for the airport systems design and MEP. To comply with energy savings and environmental requirements Deerns performed an energy study in which the design choices were analysed in terms of energy usage, impact on the environment and life cycle cost. The new extended terminal will enhance further development of this young European State.
