Bahrain - Control Tower

An important hub airport in the Middle East and operating base of Gulf Air, is Bahrain International Airport. As part of a multi-year process of expanding the airport a new air traffic control tower was constructed in 2005.

The 12-level and 45 meter high tower provides seven air traffic controllers, along with a supervisor, an unobstructed view of the airport, today and after completion of the expansion process. Deerns was responsible for the preparation, the functional system design and the tenders of all the equipment for the control tower. Deerns redeveloped  the design of the tower functionality; the Visual Control Room and its equipment set-up where designed to meet the functional and the architectural requirements.
