The logistic expertise that Deerns has gained throughout the years particularly lies in the fields of airports, health care, and industry. The transport technology unit is principally concerned with modelling and simulation of logistic systems. Starting point here is the optimization and integrated management of flows of people and goods. Thus for example, logistic studies are undertaken for the development of baggage handling systems for airports, distribution, storage and production systems for industry, as well as configurations for lifts and pneumatic dispatch systems.
