It is important for architects and advisors to take account of sustainability wishes, flexibility, risk analyses and environmental requirements, even in the first phase of the construction process (sketch and mass study). Here, Low Energy Architecture software (LEA®), developed by Deerns, offers a helping hand. It is a unique simulation program that can be used from the very first sketches and that will guide your design through the various phases.
Based on the earliest available data (even hand-drawn sketches) LEA® calculates the energy needs of the building, the design capacities of the various system components and the energy to be purchased. By doing so, LEA® simplifies your operational calculations enabling you to map out the preconditions for outsourcing and tendering at a very early stage. In addition, LEA® calculates the primary energy consumption of the building and the conditions that must be met to arrive at the most energy-efficient design.
