Project description
Construction and renovation of the Netherlands Cancer Institute/Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital in Amsterdam. Construction of new policlinic, wards house, parking garage, hall and 5 radiation bunkers. Reconstruction: radiotherapy, research, laboratory animal building.
Special details
The European selection of contractors took place through an innovative tendering procedure. Cold storage is applied and before renovation starts asbestos is cleared. One of the new bunkers was completed in advance so that radio-therapy could commence earlier. The hospital also has a research section and animal laboratory.
Involvement Deerns
Design and supervision of implementation of the mechanical, electrical, telematic, and transport installations as well as the laboratory fittings/equipping the laboratory.
Telematics
The telematic installation consists of the universal cabling infrastructure and the telephone system. The design of the future cable infrastructure is built up from 2 new computer rooms, one in the new buillding and one in the existing building. The existing infrastructure is connected to the new computer rooms.
The telephone installation consists of one central node for the entire organization as well as a separate emergency system with 64 connections throughout the hospital. The telephone system has wireless (DECT) telephones with integrated alarms from other systems.
