In the leisure and entertainment field, Deerns has extensive experience with museums, theatres and cultural centres.
Museum rooms must meet strict climatologic demands. Even old buildings
can become suitable for conserving historic art treasures without
damaging the appearance of the building. The main design issue is to
find special building-specific systems that can be integrated
invisibly. At present such renovations are being undertaken for the
Hermitage and the Shipping Museum (Scheepvaartmuseum) in Amsterdam. In
close cooperation with the architect we create designs with optimal
conservation conditions for collections.
Activities in theatres and cultural centres often have very high
noise loads. We pay a great deal of attention to preventing sound
transmission via technical installations when we design the technical
installations.
