Project description
The new Jeroen Bosch Hospital is under construction adjacent to the Willem Alexander Hospital. The new building will replace the current three hospitals in ’s-Hertogenbosch (Bois le Duc). Besides the new hospital, a new Regional Mental Health Centre and a revalidation centre (De Tolburg) will also be built. Furthermore, the project includes a parking garage with space for 1100 cars.
Special details
The three old hospital buildings date from the seventies. The buildings and their interior layout are clearly outdated: large units for long nursing periods. In the past thirty years medical care has changed considerably, hospital buildings however, have hardly. Every reason for new construction geared to modern and future health care developments.
That changing views on care are taken into consideration in the new construction can be seen from various points. They include improved logistics, automatic guided vehicle systems; flexible construction, rooms have to be adjustable within a few days; and better orientation so that patients and visitors can find their way around more easily.
Involvement Deerns
Design of mechanical and electro technical installations (construction documents) including sustainable energy supply. Logistic studies and design of the transport installations consisting of escalators, 23 lifts, several pneumatic tube systems with 50 receiving stations and the exterior wall maintenance installation. Furthermore, Deerns is involved in the design of the hydrotherapy pool for the revalidation centre and the design of the laboratory setup.
The tendering of future maintenance is also exceptional. Besides tender documents for realisation, performance specifications have also been drafted for the benefit of maintenance in the coming 10 years; these have been put to tender at the same time as the implementation.
