Over the last decade, Deerns has undergone a number of significant international developments. Its number of international clients has grown substantially, as has staff size. Apart from our six Dutch offices (Rijswijk, Amsterdam, Groningen, Nijmegen, Eindhoven and Maastricht), Deerns today has seven office locations beyond the Netherlands: Cologne, Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, London, Denver and Dubai. This has resulted in an increased need to support knowledge sharing among these National Offices, to facilitate cross-border teamwork, and to warrant efficiency.
To meet these goals, Deerns has established a formal ‘group structure’ as of January 1, 2012. The Deerns Group leads the currently seven National Offices and oversees their close cooperation in serving international clients, developing professional talent and maintaining quality and innovative drive.
Deerns has thus become an international Firm. It is led by a new Executive Board, consisting of five members: Erik Lousberg (the Netherlands), Lars Mostert (Germany), Roel Rooskens (CFO), Olivier Severini (France) and Jan Karel Mak (CEO).
At Group level three International Practices have been instituted to serve clients in those market segments that are truly global in nature: Airports, Data Centers and Clean Technology. The leaders of these practices take responsibility for the adequate representation of the Firm in these markets and for a consistent quality management throughout the world. They are Daan Eijgendaal (Airports), Wouter Kok & Carlos de la Noceda (Data Centers), and Eric Stuiver (Clean Technology).
The Deerns Group is based in Rijswijk, the Netherlands.
The organisational restructuring leading to the establishment of the international Deerns Group has implications for its Dutch originator, Deerns Raadgevende Ingenieurs BV, and its Board of Directors. The new name of this Dutch entity has become ‘Deerns the Netherlands’. Jan Karel Mak has after eleven years transferred his role as the chairman of its Board of Directors to Erik Lousberg MBA. Erik joined Deerns 11 years ago, and has had different positions since, among which that of Business Development manager, Director of the Eindhoven office and Director of Deerns Raadgevende Ingenieurs BV.
The leadership of Deerns’ National Offices is now composed as follows:
Jan Karel Mak, CEO
Rijswijk, the Netherlands,
