U.S Green Building Council
In 2008 Deerns became a member of USGBC and is thus authorized to certify buildings according to LEED. In 1998, the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC) established the ‘Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design building assessment system for new construction’, or LEED-NC. In the US this voluntarily applied system is accepted as the national standard to assess the durability of buildings. Buildings can be categorized in one of four categories: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Certified. Besides certification, Deerns can also give advice during the design stage of a building to further a good LEED-score.

Dutch Green Building Council
Deerns is one of the founding partners of the Dutch Green Building Council and is therefore accredited to certify buildings according to BREEAM-NL.

European Code of Conduct for Data Centres
The Renewable Energy Unit of the European Committee has granted Deerns the title of endorser in the Code of Conduct for Energy Efficiency. This code of conduct is a voluntary programme in which different parties, from suppliers to end-users, participate. By assigning to the code of conduct Deerns wishes to emphasize that we are a great choice in designing energy efficient datacenters.

On an individual basis, Deerns' employees are members of:

BICSI: Building Industry Consulting Service International

REHVA: Federation of European HVAC Associations
