We are pleased to present the
achievements Deerns has made to this date in terms of sustainability.
This is no reason to be complacent, it’s
an incentive to keep on doing better. Sustainability is an on-going
process. Our focus is primarily on large measures that make an immediate
and substantial contribution to reducing CO2. While this is logical and
certainly necessary, it should not cause us to forget the little things
like turning off the light when the office is empty, arranging to
travel together to a meeting, travelling more economically and
considering whether it is really necessary to travel at all. These are
just a small number of contributions towards a sustainable environment.
The
most important thing is to change behavior, specifically individual
behavior. While each small initiative will not resolve the problem in
itself, every little bit helps and together this will result in
significant savings. This is our biggest challenge!
